Description
Getting off the bus, we head to the Roman Catholic church built in 1894. The path marked with K (National Blue Trail) leads next to this church. We climb the narrow path to an asphalt road. It is worth to look back at the beautiful view of the village and its church. We go on the road to the left (we reach the Millecentenárium Memorial Park), which leads us to a junction. Here the S path is coming from Porva and the common sign continues on the asphalt road to the left. In a junction, the sign turns to left into the forest and continues parallel to the asphalt road. Soon it leads out of the forest and we walk on the road to the junction before Szépalmapuszta, where we follow the S sign to the left. We are passing by the buildings of Szépalma which was the stud farm of the Counts of Esterházy. You have to visit the small Arboretum with its gymnosperms! Arriving at the hotel building, bypassing it from the right, next to the little pond we continue our way on the P □ path. Walking on the open ground, we can enjoy the beautiful view of the ridge of th Kőris Hill and Kék Hill. Getting to the P + mark, we continue our way to the left. Soon we descend into a valley and reach an unpaved road. On this road, we continue to follow the P + sign. Winding, uphill and downhill we arrive at a forestry settlement, Pálihálás. We cross the village located in an idyllic environment on the asphalt road. The asphalt road turn at right angles to the right and after approx. 700 m, on the right the P + sign leads into the forest. We go downhill in the valley of the Kő Well forest. Walking out of the forest, we reach the outskirts of Tündérmajor. On the main street we turn to the left, follow the sign and continue our journey along the ruined buildings of the old Distillery and the former manorial Granary. Passing by the hydro globe, we are going downhill and see the houses of Zirc and the building complex of the Cistercian Abbey. We pass by a small Mary shrine and a new wooden cross above the town’s outskirts. From the cross’ foot, we can enjoy a magnificent view of the Zirc Basin and of the forests of Pintér Hill to the left. In front of us, we can see the houses of Nagyesztergár and behind them the Tés Plateau. To the right, the houses of Olaszfalu rise and southward the Ámos Hill near Eplény closes the horizon. In clear weather the plateau of the Vértes Hills marks the horizon. From here, turning on the Irtás street to the left and on the Eötvös Károly street to the right we go downhill near the Saint Cross (Calvary) chapel to the Rákóczi square.
